[DECATUR, TX] - National Roper’s Supply is excited to partner with a new up-and-coming rodeo organization called The World Series of Breakaway Roping, Barrel Racing and Goat Tying [WSBRBR]. The organization is designed to promote and encourage involvement in the the sport of rodeo by hosting events for youth and seasoned professionals throughout the country and world.
“I am so excited for NRS to not only be a corporate partner as the Official Retailer and Trailer Dealership of the WSBRBR, but I’m also looking forward to producing these great events at the NRS Event Center here at NRS Ranch,” said NRS Owner and Founder, David Isham. “I know barrel racing is popular with both men and women these days, but I also believe that nationally organized, quality breakaway ropings and goat tying events are going to be the next big thing. For decades, thousands of ladies and kids grew up competing in breakaway roping and goat tying in high school rodeo, but suddenly had nowhere to go once they graduated. There is nothing more exciting than watching a lady rope a calf in less than two seconds or watching a nine-year-old boy catch his very first little dairy calf in competition. Seven-second goat tying runs are also unreal to watch.”
By offering competitions for all ages, The World Series of Breakaway Roping, Barrel Racing and Goat Tying hopes to encourage newcomers to participate in the sport, while also allowing current professionals an outlet to hone their craft. Although membership within the organization is encouraged it is not required to compete in future events.
Every event is formatted to feature a breakaway roping, barrel racing and goat tying competition. The breakaway portion of the event will host competitions for boys and girls 10 and under, 13 and under, 15 and under, ladies 18 and under and an Open, which ladies of all ages are eligible to compete in. Many of the Open breakaway’s throughout the year will also be American Qualifiers. The barrel racing portion will have competitions for boys and girls 10 and under, 13 and under, 15 and under, 18 and under and an Open 4D Jackpot, which everyone can compete in. Lastly, the goat tying will include divisions for boys and girls 10 and under, 13 and under, 15 and under, ladies 18 and under and an Open Jackpot for ladies of all ages.
As part of the partnership, NRS will host three World Series of Breakaway Roping, Barrel Racing and Goat Tying qualifiers. The first is scheduled for June 8th and 9th at the NRS Event Center in Decatur, Texas (https://nrsevents.com/wsbrbr).
“Local events are either affiliates or qualifiers and each participant earns points toward participating in the regional and world finals,” said WSBRBR Owner and Founder, Sherry Hamilton.
NRS is very excited for the opportunity to partner with an organization that fits so in line with the company’s customer demographic.
“The rodeo world is continuously evolving. With the addition of the WSBRBR, there is now even more opportunity for our customers to enjoy their passion,” said NRS Trailers Managing Partner, Mike Henderson. “I look forward to NRS Trailers supplying their trailer and service needs at each of our 6 locations across the country.”
